05/29/2026 RE: Taking an Off-Ramp
Time
for me to head out soon…
That is, I have set a retirement date of August 31, 2026 to wind down my
professional practice as a consulting RF engineer and close this business.
I have worked in broadcasting for over 45 years, first as an FM/AM chief
engineer then the last 30 years providing consulting engineer services to
television and radio stations across the country. Along the way there
have been many challenging issues and projects including numerous FM upgrades,
new NCE-FM stations, experimental digital TV, several of the last new analog TV
stations, digital TV paired channels, FM digital, FM translator craziness,
final digital TV channel selections, TV repack, LPTV displacement, TV channel
substitutions, LPTV relocations, and so on.
It has been my privilege to work in this industry and make acquaintance
and friendship with so many. Thank you.
For the next few months I will be here at “full power”
and will continue to work on projects as needed until August 31.
Next up will be leisure time with some hobbies, volunteer activities,
grandkids, and a little travel. I am grateful for my sweetie Cheryl who
has been by my side for all the ups and downs of this ride.
I do expect to attend some AFCCE and SBE events occasionally and hope to run
into some of you there.
